Vietnam ranks fifth in the number of international students in Australia

The information was given at the launch of the “Shine With Australia” publication on April 20, co-delivered by Austrade and Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics.
Mr. Xavier Simonet said that 2023 marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Australia (1973-2023). In particular, education is always the most important field in cooperation activities between the two countries.
Mr. Xavier Simonet said that according to the latest statistics, the number of Vietnamese students studying in Australia is around 24,000. Vietnam ranks fifth among the countries with the most students studying in Australia.
Also, the number of Vietnamese alumni who studied in Australia is about 100,000 people.
Compared to data shared by Austrade with the press in September 2022, Vietnam’s ranking on the list of countries with the most international students in Australia has dropped one notch, from 4 to 5.
However, in general, the number of international students is still on a growing trend. As of September 2023, some 20,000 Vietnamese students were in Australia. To date, this number has been joined by some 4,000 people.
According to Mr. Xavier Simonet, comparative rankings between countries are not that important as the number of Vietnamese students coming to Australia continues to increase. This demonstrates the attractiveness of the market. study abroad in australia with international students after the COVID-19 period.

Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics Press is expected to publish 1,000 copies for the first time.
