The model of “Start-up Day – Techfest” has been spreading and resonating across the country, with more than 10 regional and local Techfests being held in 2022. In 2022, the Ministry of Science and Technology has presided over and coordinated with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) to develop and complete the Local Innovation Index (PII).

This is the first year that this Index has been deployed with a total of 20 pilot localities. PII is expected to be an effective tool for each province/city to clearly identify strengths, weaknesses, potential factors and necessary conditions to promote socio-economic development.

The Ministry of Science and Technology and its partners have developed a published capacity ranking in the field of artificial intelligence of research and training institutions in Vietnam. This activity contributes to the realization of the National Strategy on Research, Development and Application of Artificial Intelligence to 2030.

According to Minister of Science and Technology Huynh Thanh Dat, in the past year, the Party’s guidelines on the development of science, technology and innovation have continued to be supplemented, perfected, and closely followed the orientations of the Resolution of the XIII Congress.

Sharing at the conference, according to Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam, in order for science and technology to become a driving force for the country’s development, it is necessary to develop regulations on state management of science and technology. In which, there is the introduction of real legal document systems into effect so that scientists can study with peace of mind, without having to worry about too many invoices and documents.
