Toyota Yaris Cross is about to be sold in Thailand, revealed to Vietnam and placed under Corolla Cross

According to Headlightmagan internal source from Toyota confirmed that the SUV version of Toyota Yaris will be launched in Thailand in the middle of the third quarter – the beginning of the fourth quarter.

The chassis of Toyota Yaris SUV in Southeast Asia is expected to be DNGA like the new generation Vios launched late last year. The name is said to still be Toyota Yaris Cross, but the chassis has nothing to do with the Yaris Cross sold in Europe using the GA-B chassis.

The SUV version of Toyota Yaris is expected to use the Yaris Cross name like the international version.

Powertrain of Toyota Yaris Cross Southeast Asia is expected to have 2 types, including 1.5L gasoline engine with CVT continuously variable automatic transmission and front-wheel drive, and 1.5L hybrid e-Smart machine. The front suspension is a MacPherson strut and the rear is a torsion bar.

In terms of design, the Toyota Yaris Cross is expected to follow… the new Vios, except for the taller chassis and a slightly stronger, masculine overall body. Toyota Yaris Cross’s rival is the Honda WR-V.
