The Vietnam women’s team closes the list for the Olympic qualifiers
Before leaving, vietnam women’s team had the last friendly match with the Hanoi youth team at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center.
The pitch was slippery due to the rain, which made it difficult for the Vietnamese women’s team to spread the ball in the first half, especially against the men’s opponent. With a fierce game, the Hanoi youth team took the lead in the first half.

Being tied, the Hanoi youth team increased the speed of the match. The result was in the 75th minute, the Hanoi youth team had a goal to increase the score to 2-1. However, Vu Thi Hoa shone again in the 80th minute with a left-footed shot from outside 16m50, drawing 2-2 for the Vietnamese women’s team.
Immediately after the game, coach Mai Duc Chung and the coaching staff met with the entire team to make a decision on the 22-player roster for the first qualifying round of the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.
The 10 eliminated players will continue training at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center with fitness trainer Cedric Roger.
In addition, the coach Mai Duc Chung also summoned 4 more young players to meet, including Tran Nhat Lan, Ho Thi Thanh Thao, Tran Thi Thuy Nga and Ngoc Minh Chuyen. This group of 14 players will continue to train physically and technically to prepare the next plans for Vietnamese women’s football.
Tomorrow (April 2), the Vietnamese women’s team will depart for Nepal at 19:05 from Noi Bai Airport. The teachers and students of coach Mai Duc Chung will travel through the Indira Gandhi airport (India) for 16 hours before moving to Kathmandu (Nepal).
To ensure the health of the players on this long journey, the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) has calculated a rest plan for the entire team at the Indian airport.
In the first qualifying round of the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, the Vietnam women’s team will face the Nepal women’s team in two matches on April 5 and 8. The winning team will advance to the second qualifying round.
