Many phone shops are open throughout Tet

Speaking to VietNamNet, the two chains The Gioi Di Dong and FPT Shop said they would reopen on the 4th of the Lunar New Year. Their stores are open until the morning of the 30th of Tet. In addition, the two retailers are still accepting orders through Tet, and will start shipping from the 4th.

Meanwhile, smaller chains such as CellphoneS, Mobile Viet, Minh Tuan Mobile, etc. will open during Tet at some central stores.

CellphoneS said it will continue to serve throughout Tet as in previous years. This year the scope is expanded, with nearly 20 stores selling throughout Tet, nearly 50 stores opening on March 2, and the entire system with more than 120 stores will officially reopen on the 4th.

Some warranty and repair centers for Phone Vui will also open early from the 3rd of Tet to serve the needs of customers who want to repair their phones.

Minh Tuan Mobile is open until the 30th of Tet and open during Tet 5 branches in the areas of District 1, Ho Chi Minh City. Thu Duc, Binh Thanh, District 10 and Go Vap. Mobile Viet will not be on Tet holiday at 6 stores in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi.

Normally, sales of stores will increase sharply in the week leading up to Tet, then decrease from 30 Tet because people are on holiday.

Near Tet, Mobile Viet said that the system’s revenue grew by about 25-50% compared to the previous month due to high demand and big promotions. During Tet, the revenue is expected to be only about 1/10 of the days before Tet, but the system is still open to maintain, ensuring there is always a place to serve the needs of customers.

Previously, Mr. Nguyen Dat, CEO of Mobile Viet, told VietNamNet that the opening during Tet also means creating jobs for employees who are far away from home and want to increase their income on this occasion.

CellphoneS said that revenue in the days leading up to Tet tends to increase by 30-50%. In 3 days of Tet, the revenue is about 30% compared to weekdays.

Similarly, revenue at Minh Tuan Mobile will increase in the days near Tet due to the demand for shopping as gifts and upgrading the device before the new year. However, purchasing power will decrease around 28-30 Lunar New Year.
