In order to promptly correct violations related to the provision of services for registration and maintenance of international domain names in Vietnam, promptly prevent illegal acts occurring on the Internet-related environment. related to the use of international domain names such as fraud, providing false information, impersonating a bank, impersonating a press agency; providing unlicensed video games, gambling games, etc., the Inspector of the Ministry of Information and Communications has asked international domain name registrars in Vietnam to do a few things as follows:

Instruct organizations and individuals that register to use international domain names to notify the Ministry of Information and Communications in the network environment, when there is a change in the notified information, they must update or send a document to the Ministry for adjustment. correction.

An international domain name registrar in Vietnam needs to keep full and accurate information of customers, information of domain name registration dossiers, records of changes in customer information for which they provide registration services, maintain domain names.

Strengthen coordination with state agencies in handling cases related to domain names under their management such as suspension, revocation, maintenance of the status quo, and provision of information on domain names showing signs of infringement.

The Inspectorate of the Ministry of Information and Communications also requested international domain name registrars in Vietnam to proactively check domain names showing signs of being used to commit illegal acts and send them to the relevant authorities for consideration and settlement. In 2022, VNNIC also coordinated to provide information on 1,057 domain names for state agencies to handle violations, most of which were international domain names (925 domain names).
