Meeting honoring businesses will become an annual activity

Attending the meeting on the occasion of the Lunar New Year of the Year of the Rabbit 2023 organized by the Ministry of Information and Communications were the heads of 18 typical digital technology enterprises, including: Viettel, VNPT, MobiFone, FPT, CMC, Vietnam Post, Be Group, VNPay, Economy Delivery, MISA, VCCorp, Sao Bac Dau, Bkav, VieON, MK, VMO, Savis and NTQ. These are enterprises representing more than 70,000 established digital technology enterprises, of which 48,000 are active.

Over the past year, the information and communication industry has continued its efforts and achieved many results with the “dual goal” of developing digital government, digital economy and digital society, and forming strong digital technology enterprises. of Vietnam to reach out to the world. The national digital transformation led by the information and communication industry has become more and more widespread.

Digital technology industry continues to be one bright spot of Vietnam’s economy. The industry’s revenue in 2022 is estimated at 148 billion USD, an increase of over 10% compared to 2021. The industry’s export is estimated at 136 billion USD. Vietnamese digital technology enterprises continue to affirm their pioneering role in research, development and innovation, mastering technology, making important contributions to the process of promoting national digital transformation.

Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Manh Hung emphasized, this is the first time that the Ministry of Information and Communications has organized a meeting with typical Vietnamese digital technology enterprises to express sincere thanks and honor businesses and entrepreneurs. The head of the information and communication industry also hopes that this will become an annual activity of the Ministry.

“The state thanks businesses, because they have created the country’s development, generated revenue for the state, thereby feeding the state apparatus, developing infrastructure, and eradicating hunger and reducing poverty. In wartime, honor the army, generals and soldiers. In peacetime, businesses, entrepreneurs and workers should be honored… If the country wants to develop strong, it must rely on businesses and entrepreneurs.”the Minister emphasized.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. To Dung Thai, Chairman of VNPT, said: In the digital transformation process, there is a lot of work. It is important that businesses have the right products and solutions. Technology businesses also need to cooperate with each other, limiting the fierce competition mainly on price as in the past period.

Sharing the same view, Mr. Tao Duc Thang, Chairman and General Director of Viettel, said that in order to have coordination and cooperation between private enterprises and foreign enterprises, businesses need to sit together. In fact, Viettel has been doing some work with private enterprises such as FPT, CMC.

Affirming that businesses going abroad will grow very quickly, Mr. Tao Duc Thang also wishes to have a cooperation mechanism for state-owned and private enterprises to go to develop foreign markets together, thereby taking advantage of the advantages of foreign investment. each other’s strengths.

Sharing the perspective of a technology business that has made strong changes from outsourcing to Make in VietnamFPT General Director Nguyen Van Khoa said that the company has more than 200 products so far Make in Vietnam and set a goal in the coming time at least 10 new products per year. At the meeting, businesses also raised a number of difficulties, problems and suggestions to the Ministry of Information and Communications such as: Support businesses to connect with training institutions to solve difficulties in IT human resources; research and build Lab safety assessment, network security for hardware devices; guiding and calling for units, organizations and enterprises to use Make in VietNam products; income tax exemption for people who make high-tech products in Vietnam to attract talented people…

With the recommendations and proposals of businesses, leaders of the Ministry of Information and Communications have answered and assigned functional units to act as focal points to handle and support businesses. The Minister of Information and Communications also directed the promotion of the establishment of a Policy Council, with many field groups with the participation of large enterprises, typical in that field.

Recognizing that the fourth industrial revolution is bringing opportunities for developing countries like Vietnam to change their destiny, possibly “turning into dragons and tigers”, Minister Nguyen Manh Hung pointed out that each revolution The industrial network is also only a few countries “turning into dragons”, those are the countries that seize the opportunity and bravely take the lead. “Then let us bravely take the lead”, Minister called.

Pointing out the main features in the future picture of the industry, the Minister wished that Vietnamese digital technology enterprises that have been established would respect the law, accept the mission to help Vietnam “turn into a dragon, turn into a tiger”, become a into a high-income developed country by 2045. “Associate your mission with the national mission, tie your destiny with the national destiny.
