The first folding iPad will be released in 2024
According to information from reputable analyst Ming-Chi Kuo of TF International Securities, Apple will launch a foldable iPad with a carbon fiber kickstand sometime next year, but Kuo did not give a specific time. .
Based on Apple’s iPad development plans, Mr. Kuo said, Apple won’t launch a new iPad in 2023.
“There won’t be a new iPad for the next 9-12 months,” Kuo commented.
He also predicts a decline in iPad sales in 2023 of about 10-15% compared to 2022.
However, this analyst also hopes, the foldable iPad model launched in 2024 will “revive sales and improve product portfolio” for Apple.
This is not the first time rumors about Apple will launch a folding screen iPad appear. An October 2022 report from analysts at CCS Insight suggested that Apple plans to launch a new line of iPad foldable in 2024 as a move, before bringing the technology to the iPhone.
According to analyst Ross Young of Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC), Apple may be testing a 20-inch folding iPad screen. Mr. Young predicts this device will launch around 2026 or 2027.
Apple is said to be working with LG to create an ultra-thin glass for foldable products, though it’s unclear if the material will be used for the iPhone or iPad.
